Privacy Policy

ProofPing is a Chrome Extension that helps freelancers and agencies know when their proposal links are opened. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Your email address, which you provide voluntarily to receive open notifications
• The URLs you choose to track using ProofPing
• Anonymous click data when someone opens your tracked link — including timestamp, browser type (User-Agent), and approximate location via IP address

What we never do

• We never sell your data to anyone
• We never track the people who click your links beyond the basic click event
• We never access your emails, documents, or files
• We never store the content of your proposals

How notifications work

When someone clicks your tracked link, we log the click event and send you an email notification. The person clicking the link is redirected instantly to your original document. They see nothing unusual — just a normal redirect.

Local storage

ProofPing stores your email address and a list of your tracked links locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data stays on your device and syncs with your ProofPing account when you're online. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clicking "Reset to setup screen" from within the extension.

Data storage

Your email address and link data are stored securely in our database (Supabase, hosted on AWS). Click data (timestamp, User-Agent, IP address) is stored alongside each link record.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at arslanbangash99@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 7 business days. After deletion, all your data — including your email address, tracked links, and click logs — will be permanently removed from our systems.

Third-party services

ProofPing uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database storage (supabase.com)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com)
• Vercel — serverless backend hosting (vercel.com)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their data handling practices.

Children's privacy

ProofPing is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we have about you
• Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be notified via email to registered users. Your continued use of ProofPing after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
